For those of you that are familiar with the Leatherman brand, it may not take too much convincing to start using their tools during your outdoor activities. The Skeletool SX by Leatherman was designed and developed especially for the skier and snowboarder. They didn’t just shoot off the hip with this one though, so not to worry. Leatherman partnered with Signal Snowboards to make sure all features aligned with the powder hunting tools, including the 9mm Handguns!
Similar to the classic Leatherman, this one has been slimmed down (hence the name Skeletool) so it won’t weigh your pocket down with features you’ll never use. If you’re a backcountry traveler I would hope, at the very least, the Skeletool will make it in your backpack every time. Besides that, how many times have you been asked in the lift line if you had a screwdriver on you?
The features diligently included in the Skeletool include pliers (needle nose and regular), hard-wire and wire cutters, and a diamond coated file for when the burs on your edges are ruining your day. The 420HC combo knife is sweet and would slice through your summer sausage or be your go-to if you get into an emergency situation. The blade is sharp and is 2.6 inches long making it the perfect pocket size. The carabiner doubles as a bottle opener, so while you can easily attach it to your pants, you may misplace it over the course of a night of opening bottles.
Also included in the Skeletool is a bit driver with sizes #1-2 and #3 and is compact and stores nicely in the handle of the pliers. This makes for repairing or adjusting bindings out on the hill super easy and convenient. You won’t have to travel down to the base to find an inconspicuous tune table.
This is the perfect tool to have with you where ever you find adventure. You know it’s going to last, as a 25 warranty backs the pride Leatherman takes in their products. Durability, functionality, and usability are all features you’ll find with high standards included in the Skeletool by Leatherman or any other Leatherman you have on your hip. Be sure to check out everything they are doing and find what fits into your lifestyle!
