I’ve always had a crush on Canada Goose and was super jealous of anyone I saw sporting a down piece with the signature patch on the left sleeve. I’m finally so happy I have the opportunity to have that signature patch on my sleeve. Not to mention the fact that the patch lives on a -25 degree rated down jacket. Thanks to the Solaris Parka, I’m a happy and warm soul in even the coldest temps.
Before I impress you with the technology and design that goes into this jacket there are a few things you must understand. Canada Goose has an amazing reputation all over the world for supplying pros with some of the warmest down pieces. Many professionals use this gear when they are enduring the coldest temps in the world. Besides being some of the coldest places in the world, these places are often desolate and undeveloped. So aside from the absolute necessity to stay warm, these people need reliable gear that won’t break down or need repair. Needless to say, I have faith in this jacket.
The Solaris Parka is a simple design, with four front pockets, two of which are obvious. The hand pockets are flap velcro closures. My two favorite pockets are the hand warming pockets, which are skillfully placed so they will pull heat from your core. Fleece lined, they are warm and very comfortable. As I mentioned, Canada Goose has an impressive line including extreme and technical jackets, simple jackets, and varying weight.
This particular jacket comes in at level 4 (on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the warmest) and is rated for -25 degrees. I felt comfortable with a level four. I’m usually cold even if it’s 20 degrees out but I didn’t think it would be a daily occurrence that I’d be in -25 degree temps.
The Solaris Parka is rich in features but still withholds the clean and simple look that I love so much. I’ve got the tan color, which is unique and different than anything else I’ve ever owned. I understand that the first glance at the price tag one may be surprised. These jackets aren’t cheap but there’s a good reason for it. You’re getting a piece of gear that uses only the highest quality blends of materials, most functional design, and style that soars above most of the competition. Invest in a piece of gear that will last a lifetime, keep you warm in the coldest environments, and that will put that distinct patch on your left arm. You won’t regret it!
