I’ve been running for a full week now. The c25k program that I am using on my iphone is proving to be quite fun and useful. They say to run every other day but I am running every day instead. I feel like a lazy butt if I wait that day. Besides, I have the time, why not do it!
I am very happy to report that running has been *gasp* enjoyable! It helps when I can do it in the morning when I actually have the energy to do it. Proper timing is key. Also key is clothes. I have been running in my brand new Pearl Izumi Fly women’s jacket and Transfer 3/4 pant. Both have been amazing so far.
The pants make my legs look skinny which is great for me (my problem area!!) and the jacket is just plain cute. I feel like I look the part and that makes me feel good! So far I have mostly Pearl Izumi and their amazing running gear to thank!
Most people, I’ve learned, like to run to music. I, on the other hand, do not. Music gets boring after a while, which makes me bored, which makes my mind wander and then wonder how much longer I have before I am done. What I love is listening to an audio book while running. Currently I am listening to a Doctor Who book called The Last Voyage. It’s read by David Tennant who happens to be my favorite doctor on the TV series. Bonus.
The other big thing I am learning has absolutely nothing to do with running. It’s the videos. We have been recording a bunch of stuff about my running project and it get very trying at times. There are mornings I am just ready to go but I have to wait until the shot and camera are ready so everything will work. When you are motivated to run and you have to wait, it’s not a good combination. Sometimes it makes for a frustrated, not so animated actress (me).
That’s what happened in this video. I swear I am enjoying running, and running with my kids was super fun. Don’t let my cranky-ness fool you! And to all you professional actors out there. I salute you. I had NO idea how hard it was to be in front of the camera!!
