Base layers are an essential feature of my layering system for skiing. Luckily for me, I have the privilege of wearing the Climasense 3.0 Ecolator by Terramar on cold days. The textured fleece fosters a soft feel and allows for extreme breathability.
When you get overheated on cold days, the Climasense technology will help you adapt and ensure a comfortable core temperature. It allows for a warming effect when you’re cold and a cooling effect when you’re warm.
Something I truly love about the Ecolator is that it’s a very transitional piece. It will keep me warm all day on the hill but then stylish when the day is over. You could easily wear this to a nice dinner and stay looking fresh.
With that said, this piece has abilities to wick moisture for quick drying and “inhibits growth of bacteria that causes odor” so when you do wear it from the hill to dinner, you definitely won’t stink.
Terramar’s easy to understand warmth system rates this as a 3.0 which is the highest warmth level (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0). If you happen to wear the Ecolator when you’re cross training, it will keep you protected from the sun with 50+UPF.
Right now this rates as my favorite base layer, especially because it’s stylish enough to wear to dinner after skiing. This layer is amazingly soft, comfortable, and well designed. I’m lucky that it has odor control because I can’t take it off!
