Peanut butter is basically the most perfect best food ever. I lived on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as a kid. Seriously, I would eat spoonfuls of it. When I opened the box from Justin’s Nut Butter I was thrilled!! Whats even better is that they sent not just plain nut butter, but they sent their Nutella equivalent, chocolate hazelnut. I am not even kidding, I couldn’t wait to bust open that package! To make it even better, it just so happened that I had some leftover puff pastry from a chicken pot pie I made the week before. DO you know what this means? I can make DESSERT!
So here’s what I did. I cut the pastry into squares,
Then I stuffed them into a mini muffin pan to make cute little puff pastry cups.
Stick them in the oven for about 12 or so minutes until the tops are just a bit brown.
Mmmmmmm……
And now the best part! Normally I would fill these cups with a cream cheese and powdered sugar concoction, but not today!
Seriously, I wish this screen was scratch and sniff, well, maybe not cause you’d have loads of drool all over your keyboard. Take my word for it, it smells AWESOME!
I also chose to try the Maple Almond Butter on a few of the puff pastry cups as well.
And now the moment of truth, the taste test. A little slice of heaven. The Chocolate Hazelnut Butter was soooo delicious! Yummy perfect dessert. I didn’t like the Maple Almond Butter as much but it I had it on a sandwich the next day and it was delightful. My kids actually choose the Maple Almond Butter over the Jiff I have bought their entire lives!
If you like Nut Butter of any kind I implore you, please try these puff pastry Chocolate Hazelnut Delights. You won’t regret it.
I promise.
