Skeptical of compression socks? Me too. Until I tried them. I was lucky enough to try, for the first time, a quality, comfortable and breathable pair of compression socks and I must admit I think I’m hooked. Zensah makes a lot of different compression products. I chose the Tech+ socks, because I wanted to get the full effect on my calves and feet.
It’s crazy to me that instantly when putting these socks on, one can feel the difference. It helps that they are very comfortable (thanks to the seamless toe and “anatomical fit”). They are designed for athletic wear so of course the materials used are breathable and moisture wicking. Probably one of the coolest factors is that they make left and right specific socks, making these a perfect fit on the foot.
I’ve worn these on long motorcycle rides, on my bicycle, and while hiking. They just make my legs feel better and when I get back to the car, the recovery time (or as I like to say the burn time) is just not as long and grueling.
The point of compressions socks, in a very basic explanation, is to increase oxygenated blood flow to the “compressed” extremities. Now, there are much more informed explanations all over the place of which I’m not going to get into. I’m not an extreme athlete (i.e. running 40 miles a day) and so I’m more interested in how they feel when I’m doing the activities that I love. The Tech+ socks are great because they do what they’re supposed to while being extremely comfortable and versatile. And as a plus, they are not totally ridiculous looking! Try them.
